    Mobile user experience solutions developer Zumobi announced the launch of Ziibii, a free iPhone application promising real-time social interaction between users across a variety of social media apps. According to Zumobi, Ziibii blends elements of Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube with web content to enable user interaction along with ongoing discovery of news, stories and blogs via direct-connect to social networking sites and RSS feeds. Zumobi adds that Ziibii offers advertising and sponsorship opportunities that incorporate brands into the overall content flow, becoming part of the ongoing engagement and product experience--the app offers an inventory of mobile advertising, sponsorships and media units as well as reporting tools and analytics for usage and behavior.   • Zumobi expands to BlackBerry platform

    Mobile UI development firm Zumobi announced the launch of its first application for Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices. The widget product promises to enhance the BlackBerry user experience by delivering efficient access to "bites" of customized web content including news, sports, weather, entertainment and games. Users may also create their own personalized widgets via Zumobi's Tile Creation Wizard; in conjunction with the BlackBerry launch, industry weblog BlackBerry Cool will debut its own branded Zumobi Tile to extend its news and reviews to the mobile platform. Zumobi's press release is extraordinarily vague (see the full text after the break) and we can't really make out how far-reaching the distro deal is, but even if only a modest percentage of future WinMo handsets feature Zumobi's client built in, you've gotta figure that it's a huge win for the start-up -- if you can really call a Microsoft spinoff a "start-up" -- that's definitely looking for all the publicity it can get right now.
