  • Asus Android phone coming early next year!

Asus is known as a late entrant to the smartphone game, but that doesn’t mean they’re slow learner. As a matter of fact, we’re hearing they’ll be launching an Android-based phone during the first half of 2009. According to the company sources, the Taiwan-based company may initially sell these phones in the local market before [...]
  • ASUS P565 - A VGA Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone from ASUS?

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. The current evolution in the mobile world is the move to higher-resolution displays. For too long, mobile phone consumers have been forced to pick from handsets with woefully-limited pixel counts. The days of high-end smartphones being limited to lesser resolutions is coming to an end. And, [...]
  • Asus-made O2 Xda Zest Windows Mobile smartphone in works?

It seems Asus and O2 are onto something. Apparently, Global Certification Forum (GCF) has just approved the Asus GM5, codenamed “Christal,” which seems developed for the Telefonica-owned O2 mobile operator. The so called O2 Xda Zest will almost certainly run Windows Mobile (like all other Xda phones do), and will sport a tri-band GSM radio [...]

Garmin, one of the biggest names in GPS navigation hardware, has announced that it has, for the first time ever, outsourced production of a device. The Garmin Nuvifone, long-expected to marry Garmin's GPS navigation prowess with the convenience of a mobile phone, will apparently be manufactured by ASUS. • Asus P750 sporting VGA resolution screen on the down-low?

It's not every day that we hear of gadgets sporting unannounced features, nevermind some unannounced badass hardware. That wold be like buying a 250GB hard drive and tearing open the packaging to find that you have 1TB of storage! Well, that sort of thing seems to be happening to Asus P750 owners. Some users are [...]

  • Asus prepping M930, Windows Mobile Communicator?

Apparently, Taiwan-based Asustek will be launching the Windows Mobile 6 powered Communicator device, M930, somewhere in Q1 2007. According to French site Mobinaute , the upcoming device will have a shape similar to the one of the Nokia Communicator series, sporting two screens - external for basic phone functionality and the bigger internal alongside the full QWERTY keyboard. As for the specs, we should expect virtually everything - including HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.2 MP camera with auto-focus, FM tuner, 256MB of Flash ROM and 180MB of RAM. In addition, the PDA phone will run on Marvel PXA27x 520 MHz CPU and will utilize the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS - Windows Mobile 6. • Asus updates the P526 with Asus P527 - ok, great

Ok, so Asus has decided to update their 3G-less Asus P526 with, wait for it…no 3G! Apparently, the Asus P527 gets updated with WiFi. So it’s not too much of a disappointment, but we think Asus should have included some 3G - they went through all the trouble of releasing an update afterall. Other than the added WLAN integration, the Asus P527 will get the same SiRFStar III GPS receiver that took the spotlight on the predecessor. A quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) radio, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, and FM radio - powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional - round out the feature-set. Word on the street (read: speculation) has the Asus P527 coming to France by year’s end - at a €500 (just north of $700) price point. We’re not sure if the addition of WiFi is going to justify the added expense of the Asus P527, but to each his own. Now, we have a new bit of information suggesting Asus will be rolling out the P750 in Singapore and other Asian countries starting from December. What about Europe? North America? Well, we’ve know information about that. And, to make things even worse, the upcoming smartphone will have less RAM (64 MB) than we previously thought (128 MB). Not exactly THE news to start a week… [Via: the::unwired ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:ASUS P550 Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone outed by FCCAsus prepping the baddest Windows Mobile smartphone ever - Asus P series with HSDPA and GPS!Asus Z810 young people's phoneAsus debuts the J502 PDA SmartphoneAsus P526 Mercedes-Benz edition smartphone

There’s plenty of available memory (256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM), an array of connectivity options (EDGE, HSDPA, Bluetooth, WiFi), an FM radio, built-in GPS with SiRF III, and 3.2 MP camera with auto-focus. All this will be powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional edition which will run on top of Marvel 520 MHz PXA27x CPU. Is this the N95 of the Windows Mobile world? Although it lacks the additional megapixels of the Nokia device, it has a touchscreen! Is this a new Mercedes phone ?
