  • Nokia N95-3 launch in 7-10 days - the US version of the Nokia N95 is almost here!

We can’t wait for the US-spec Nokia N95 (the Nokia N95-3) to finally hit Yankee shores with its support for US-friendly 3G frequencies. With the Nokia N95-3 having recently passed through the FCC’s testing labs , the official launch of the device is imminent. The question is, just how imminent? Well, Engadget Mobile ’s sleuthing (by which we mean a phone call to a store manager) revealed that the N95-3 is just 7-10 days away! Nokia’s flagship stores are expecting to accept shipments of the 850/1900Mhz HSDPA-compatible Nokia N95 in the 7 to 10 days. If you’re planning on pulling the trigger on one a US-friendly 3G N95, you’d better get that $699 (don’t forget tax) ready soon! • Nokia N95 with US 3G support coming in September!

Nokia’s on a press junket craze like no other recently. The Nokia N81 , the Nokia N95 8GB Black , all those Nokia accessories, and not to mention the Nokia 5310 and 5610 Xpress Music Phones - it’s a lot in such a short timeframe. We’ve barely had time to process the results of the Nokia GoPlay event in London and we’re getting word that the US-spec Nokia N95 is headed for Yankee shores next month! That’s right folks, the N95 with US-friendly 3G frequency support (850/1900Mhz) is bound for your favorite 3G GSM provider (read: AT&T) Unfortunately, T-Mobile and their 1700Mhz 3G frequency is a definite no-go. We already saw the Nokia N95 US pass through the FCC’s testing regimen , so it was only a matter of time before this beauty hit American airwaves - but who knew it would be mere weeks after all this product launch craziness. For those of you that were patient enough to hold off on pulling the trigger on an unlocked European Nokia N95, you’ll be happy to hear that the US-spec N95 will not only rock its HSDPA radio on US 3G spectrum, but will sport a bumped up battery (up to 1200mAh), 100% more RAM (128MB, up from 64MB), a recessed camera lens to help protect those amazing Carl Zeiss optics. And, don’t forget, the N95 is still packin’ that integrated GPS, WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, and TV-out. Sadly, the 8GB capacity or 2.8 inch screen isn’t in the cards for the US. But, getting the GPS-equipped N95 on US 3G networks is enough for us. • US-bound Nokia N95 approved by FCC

All those people lamenting the lack of US 3G frequency support on the Nokia N95 can rest easy. Our good, old friend, the FCC , has just given the thumbs-up approval for the American version of the Nokia N95. The US-spec N95 will be packin’ the same quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio, 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, microSD slot, and Symbian S60 platform as it’s European brethren - but with one major difference. This baby will work on the US’s odd-ball 3G frequencies with it’s dual-band 850/1900Mhz WCDMA radio. The FCC’s approval of the run-of-the-mill (if you want to refer to the 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics and GPS as run-of-the-mill) Nokia N95 was a bit overshadowed by the FCC leak of the 8GB Black Nokia N95 , but it’s an important development nonetheless. That’s good and bad. It’s great news for all those US residents that have waited this long for the America-specific Nokia N95 to finally reach our shores - we’re sure this news has all of you jumping for joy. But, if you’re one of the gotta-have-it gadget aficionados that jumped the gun and ponied up for an imported Euro-spec Nokia N95, you’ll be sad to hear that we’ll soon have a fully-functional 3G radio on the US-spec N95. Bummer. Still, nothing else has changed, so it’s not that bad. (But damned if 3G wouldn’t round out the Nokia N95’s feature-set nicely, in the US that is) FCC source [Via: Phone Scoop ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Nokia N95 starts shippingNokia 8600 approved by the FCCNokia N76, N95 approved by the FCCFCC just approved the Sony Ericsson M610i … again; is it codename Elena or Lizzy?Thank you for submitting news about the E65 getting approved by the FCC but it isn't exactly blog worthy
  • Nokia N95 with American 3G gets FCC'd!

Filed under: Handsets , Nokia , Symbian , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS We're speechless. In fact, we think we might cry -- but rest assured, they're tears of joy. Rumors of a Nokia N95 packing American HSDPA have been spreading like wildfire as of late, and we're ecstatic to see that they were totally true. Though this sucker gets down with the 850 and 1900MHz bands, it doesn't get in on the 1700MHz action, suggesting that if the T-Mobile rumor is still true, this ain't it. Though arguably not quite as attractive as the decidedly non-US 8GB N95 in black that we saw this morning, this phone's innards are pretty much the most beautiful thing we've seen all day. Nokia, we turn the floor over to you to answer questions about pricing and availability. [Via Wirelessinfo.com ] Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
  • Is Nokia readying a 3G N95 for America?

Filed under: Handsets , Nokia , Symbian , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA Nokia 's N95 , like many phones in America, has been a consistent letdown to those hoping to rock any decent online content on their phone, mainly because of the prohibitive EDGE data speeds which currently dominate the GSM market here (a matter of fact, no matter how much Mr. Jobs may protest ). Well, it appears that at least Nokia is feeling our pain, because according to a recent GigaOM rumor, the company is readying a 3G variation of the N95 -- presumably with a US carrier in tow -- due out this September, which makes sense considering some of the company's recent shenanigans . If (and when) this happens, it should make the do-it-all phone, which boasts a 5 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, WiFi, and all sorts of multimedia functions, considerably more attractive to consumers in the States, even with its $749 price tag.
