  • Motorola named by AT&T as outstanding supplier, highlights strength in teamwork

Now this is just sad. Motorola doesn't seem to be doing anything more productive with its time than cutting jobs and publicizing a rather pathetic commendation from AT&T. Apparently, Motorola has been named, by AT&T, as an "Outstanding Supplier," among 27 other companies, in "the area of teamwork." Had Motorola been named "Most Innovative," "Best in [...]
  • Motorola Z9 pricing on AT&T

Color us surprised, but AT&T is apparently set to charge $249.99 for a Motorola Z9 - on 2-year contract, of course. We say the asking price is a bit much, but AT&T seems to feel that the pricing is right on point. The media-oriented slider from Motorola should be making an appearance at CTIA, which also [...]
  • AT&T prepping Motorola Q9 with WiFi?

Sure, HSDPA is great and all for on-th-go web-surfing, but with AT&T’s spotty 3G coverage, it’s not always the ideal option for getting your internet-fix. Unfortunately, AT&T isn’t to keen on giving its customers any WiFi connectivity that could drain the company’s coffers of data-revenue. Or are they? With the AT&T Tilt 8925 ( HTC Kaise r) holding up the WiFi-tip for the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional-camp, we’ve got reason to believe that AT&T is working on bringing WiFi to the WinMo 6.0 Standard masses. Boy Genius got his hands on this AT&T-branded Motorola Q9 with WiFi clearly up and running. Is AT&T planning to put this WiFi-toting Motorola Q9 into production? Or is this some sort of cruel-joke from Big Blue? We’re hoping its the former rather than the latter. Oh, and what about all current Moto Q9 handsets already out in the wild? Are they just a firmware update away from getting their dormant WiFi hardware enabled? Suffice it to say, this image of a Motorola Q9 with WiFi poses more questions than it answers. • AT&T launches teaser site for Motorola Q9h - The Q Global

What do you do when you’ve completely missed most people’s expected launch dates for the new hotness that is the Motorola Q9, and your largest CDMA rival has already launched their own version of the Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard handset? Well, you launch a teaser site with no launch information to try and appease the masses. AT&T is long overdue to launch their version of the Motorola Q9h - and they’re calling it the Motorola Q Global. Come on, AT&T. Get it in gear and drop the Motorola Q9h, er, Q Global on us already. We’re expecting an October launch, don’t disappoint us again, okay? For now you can hit up the teaser site and give AT&T an email address to let you know what’s going on with the Motorola Q Global. • Possible launch details for AT&T Tilt, Duo, Inferno

Engadget Mobile seems to have gotten the downlow on AT&T’s pricing schedule for their October lineup. The high-anticipated HTC Kaiser TyTN II, otherwise known as the AT&T Tilt 8925 looks to be hitting AT&T for $299 or $374 on a one-year and two-year contract, respectively. The Pantech Duo will be going for the right-old price of $199 on a two-year service agreement - which is a bit more than what Amazon is already offering for the dual-sliding Pantech C810 Duo. And, rounding out the smartphone offerings from AT&T, the Motorola Q9h will be hitting US airwaves in October at a $299 price point (with 2-year contract, of course). Nokia will also be getting in on AT&T’s October launch goodness with their Nokia 6555 Inferno 3G clamshell - which will go for $49.99 with new contract. Keep an eye out for AT&T and their October lineup. We can’t wait to get the Motorola Q9h and AT&T Tilt 8925 in our hands. Those are going to be some sexy smartphones, but we like our smartphones like our women - with a little meat and substance on them bones. The AT&T Tilt 8925 is the smartphone that’s making all of us squirm in our seats for a chance to take it for a spin. • AT&T goes live with Motorola RAZR2 V9 - now available on AT&T website

With Big Red and Sprint already having launched their own versions of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 , it’s about time AT&T got with the program. The AT&T-branded MOTORAZR2 V9 is actually ahead of schedule (early September) and looks to be going for $299.99 (after a $450 web discount). Nope, that wasn’t a mistake. This little “mahogany” (we’d call it “purple” but hey, who are we to correct AT&T) RAZR2 V9 touts a retail, out-of-contract price tag of $750! The MOTORAZR2 V9 is only available online to business premier customers, but should become available to all web-customers as well as in-store customers very soon. That $750 price tag had better be a joke. But, we have a sneaking suspicion that it’s entirely legit. • Mysterious Motorola Q's waiting in the wings?

Aside from the features of the Motorola Q9m and Q9h, Motorola’s newly launched Moto Q9 promotional website hints at a couple unannounced Moto Q’s waiting in the wings - literally. Flanking either side of the center-staged Motorola Q9m and Motorola Q9h are two blacked-out silhouettes of what we presume are Motorola Q variants. With the Moto Q9m destined for Verizon (expected August 20 ) as a multimedia-centric Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone, and the Moto Q9h headed to AT&T (look for an August 24 launch) as an HSDPA 3G variant of the WM6 handset, we can’t imagine what Motorola is hiding - GPS and WiFi? Now that would be cool.
