T-Mobile last week announced to work with Opera Software to make its web'n'walk even more intuitive and bringing the user even closer to the World Wide Web. In future, you will be able to access your personal favorite sites more easily and quickly than ever from your mobile phone by simply selecting the corresponding widget, an active icon, from the standard display. The web'n'walk widgets can be quickly and easily set up according to personal preferences for mobile surfing. In order to enable this, T-Mobile is providing a gallery, initially with approximately 40 widgets for popular websites. T-Mobile Germany just sent in the official specs-sheet for the recently unveiled T-Mobile MDA Vario IV and therefore the speculation is over now. Based on HTC's Raphael reference design, the Vario IV features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. It's powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7200 CPU at 528 MHz and supports triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz), dualband UMTS/HSDPA (850/2100 MHz) up to 7.2 Mbps as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g and GPS (an FM radio isn't mentioned). The MDA Vario IV is backed up by 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM which is expandable through microSD memory cards. Following the earlier news that T-Mobile unveiled the HTC Raphael, it's now official that, during an international press conference in Munich, T-Mobile and HTC jointly announced the HTC Raphael as the MDA Vario IV. Coming in late summer 2008, the MDA Vario IV T-Mobile will ensure even more convenience in the mobile office. A special feature of the organizer for use on the move is the large, slide-out complete QWERTY keyboard. Just like a PC keyboard, it has five rows of keys, making it best in class in terms of mobile devices. Like the MDA compact IV, the new MDA Vario IV also offers convenient mobile Internet access using HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps, video telephony and a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera as well as integrated GPS module round off the device's top features. Dutch Mobile Phone Helpdesk got new information and a photo of the yet to be announced HTC Raphael which Mobile Phone Helpdesk shows in the T-Mobile design. According to the information, T-Mobile will launch the Raphael later this year in Europe as "T-Mobile MDA Vario IV". Feature-wise, the HTC Raphael - which is expected to be announced by HTC as the "HTC Touch Pro" - is quite similar to HTC's Touch Diamond except that it features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which makes it the follower of the HTC TyTN II. I've mentioned it on Friday already that we got information that T-Mobile plans to revise the RAM and ROM memory of its T-Mobile MDA Touch (aka the HTC Touch) but that T-Mobile declined to comment it. Anyway - now it seems official because T-Mobile Germany and T-Mobile UK are listing the MDA Touch with doubled memory - available from now. Here we go, T-Mobile Germany just updated its online shop and added their version of the HTC Touch - which T-Mobile is going to call "T-Mobile MDA Touch" - to the listing. And now we know which design T-Mobile selected - it's nearly the same as the original HTC Touch design but with slightly modified call buttons (more squarish). While T-Mobile hasn't revealed any prices yet, the German carrier announced it to be available from July and just says "shortly" (shortly early July or shortly late July?). Well, most likely in the first half of July since sources said, that O2 Germany had a time-limited launch exclusivity for Germany.
