  • T-Mobile goes live with BlackBerry Pearl 8120

Just as expected, T-Mobile has made the BlackBerry 8120 Pearl officially official on their network. With WiFi in tow, the BlackBerry 8120 Pear takes consumer-oriented BlackBerry-ing to a new level on T-Mobile. Other carriers have been offering the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for a tick, and now T-Mobile subscribers can join in on the fun. Of course, [...]
  • SunCom first to release BlackBerry 8120 Pearl

Fancy that WiFi-packing BlackBerry 8120 Pearl that T-Mobile is slated to launch in February (you know, after they clear out existing 8100 Pearl-stock)? Well, if you happen to be within SunCom’s coverage area and have an extra $220 to spend, you can now grab-up a BlackBerry 8120 Pearl from SunCom. The $200 price tag includes contract-subsidization and rebates, so you had better be sure you really want a WiFi smartphone that doesn’t even sport a full-QWERTY keyboard - although, we hear that some people really dig that SureType keyboard. Interestingly, SunCom was recently acquired by T-Mobile . How does a subsidiary launch a highly-anticipated handset before the parent? When the parent company still has boatloads of current-generation BlackBerry 8100 Pearl inventory to clear out before they launch the WiFi-enabled version. The SunCom-branded BlackBerry 8120 Pearl will run you the aforementioned $220 and is available in the “Blue” that you see above. If you like the more muted “Amethyst” offering from T-Mobile, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer . ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:BlackBerry 8120, the new Pearl?RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 will not have GPS; to launch on AT&T before T-MobileT-Mobile BlackBerry 8120 Pearl gets real in February 2008RIM planning BlackBerry 8110 Pearl with GPS?BlackBerry Pearl 2 (8120) live shots and details
  • T-Mobile BlackBerry 8120 Pearl gets real in February 2008

Following on Sprint , Alltel , and Verizon’s WiFi-equipped BlackBerry 8120 Pearl offerings, the GSM variant of the handset is slated to hit T-Mobile’s network this coming February - with a WiFi radio in place of the GPS module in the 8130. We’re looking for a February 18th launch date, to be exact. The T-Mobile BlackBerry 8120 Pearl will rock the expected integrated WiFi radio that we saw all those other carriers launch recently . And, as such, the GSM-based BlackBerry 8120 Pearl will feature a revised keyboard and trackball and a microSD card slot to complement its built-in WiFi. Oh, and that WiFi should make this BlackBerry 8120 Pearl a shoe-in for T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home service. For now, T-Mobile will be cleaning out its BlackBerry 8100 Pearl inventory over this holiday shopping season. It makes sense to move out the old stock before the new shipments start to flow free. Unfortunately, that means that there are going to be a lot of disappointed BlackBerry 8100 Pearl owners out there when they find out that their awesome Christmas gift was pretty much outdated before they even unwrapped it. If only they had been up to date on the info that IntoMobile provided on just this matter … [Via: Engadget Mobile ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:BlackBerry 8120, the new Pearl?RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 will not have GPS; to launch on AT&T before T-MobileRIM planning BlackBerry 8110 Pearl with GPS?BlackBerry Pearl 8120 with WiFi and GPS spotted on FCCBlackBerry Pearl 2 (8120) live shots and details

Alltel’s finally joining the BlackBerry 8130 Pearl - party with today’s announcement that the BlackBerry Pearl 2 is now available to all Alltel subscribers. If you’re not familiar with the BlackBerry 8130 Pearl by now, well, you should have been paying attention - there’s going to be a quiz at the end of all this. Anyway, this SureType successor to the original BlackBerry Pearl will be bringing that 2 megapixel camera and integrated GPS receiver to Alltel’s “Largest Network.” There’s also that regular 3.5mm headphone jack, microSDHC card slot, all packed into the Alltel-only Amethyst (we call it “Blue”) colored body. A 2-year contract and a rebate will net you an Alltel-flavored BlackBerry 8130 Pearl for about $150. • Alltel picks up the BlackBerry 8130 Pearl with GPS

It looks like Alltel’s keeping up with its larger wireless rivals. The recently launched CDMA BlackBerry 8130 Pearl with that glorious integrated GPS receiver will be making its way to Alltel’s network sporting an “amethyst” color scheme. Expect the Alltel BlackBerry 8130 Pearl to pack in all the same hardware as its Sprint and Verizon kin - which is to say that it’ll rock GPS, EVDO, 2 megapixel camera, microSDHC card slot, and that SureType keyboard. Alltel says they’ll be launching their BlackBerry 8130 Pearl in time for the holiday shopping season (which is quite literally upon us), so look for this new Pearl to drop fairly soon. Oh, and it’ll cost you $150 after a $100 rebate (2-year contract required, of course). • Sprint's BlackBerry 8130 Pearl for $199

We’ve finally gotten official pricing details on Sprint’s upcoming BlackBerry 8130 Pearl. We’ve known about the Sprint BlackBerry 8130 Pearl for quite some time now , but the only details missing from our puzzle was just how much cheese Sprint’s GPS-packing Pearl would demand. Well, it looks like Sprint’s promotional page (the same one that dropped the ball and started all that Palm OS-powered Motorola Q2 madness ) has unveiled the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 at a $199 price point. Of course, this price includes a $100 rebate and requires a 2-year contract and data plan worth $25 or more per month. The Sprint BlackBerry 8130 Pearl’s price point is pretty much what we expected, but it’s nice to finally put a solid sticker-price on the the new Pearl. Look for this beauty to drop over the Thanksgiving Day weekend . • Telus brings the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 to Canda

It looks like our friends to the North are getting in on the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 party. Telus has just made the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 (we know it better as the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 ) official for maple-syrup lovers in Canada. The GPS-packin’ BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 is expected to hit the Telus network at $199.99 with a 3-year contract (we’re assuming that’s Canadian dollars, not like it matters now that the Looney is on par with the USD), or $499.99 free and clear. If you’re willing to sign away three years of your wireless life, $199.99 doesn’t sound too bad for a GPS Pearl. On the other hand, it’s going to be an obsolete handset in a year or so - that three-year commitment is pretty hardcore. • Verizon announces new cheap unlimited data plans for BlackBerry 8130 Pearl 2.0

Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the release of their BlackBerry Pearl 8130 by slashing prices on their data plans. Pearl 2.0 hopefuls on Verizon’s EVDO network can expect to get their fill of email and web surfing for just $29.99 when bundled with a voice plan - $34.99 as a stand alone, unlimited data plan. It’s nowhere near T-Mobile’s $10 a month unlimited BlackBerry email plan (or their $20 unlimited web and email plan ), but if 3G web surfing and unrivaled coverage area are your thing, Verizon Wireless is your best bet. With EVDO broadband speeds, we should be seeing some good stuff from Sprint’s BlackBerry 8130 Pearl 2. • Verizon announces four new handsets - Juke, Pearl, Venus, Voyager

As expected , Verizon Wireless has just announced four new handsets for their holiday lineup. We were looking for Verizon to drop the Samsung Juke, BlackBerry Pearl, LG Venus, and LG Voyager on us soon, and the wait is over. It looks like RIM’s recently announced BlackBerry 8130 Pearl 2.0 is going to Verizon Wireless. The new CDMA-based BlackBerry Pearl is updated to 2.0-status with a 2 megapixel camera, updated software, and integrated GPS - that’s right, GPS on the Pearl! The Samsung Juke will be pulling musicphone duty with that interesting swivel form-factor and 2GB of onboard storage. Expect to get your swivel-on in red, blue, and teal. LG’s VX8800 Venus and VX10000 Voyager will be spicing up Verizon’s lineup with some slick, touchscreen action. The LG Venus is a dual-screen slider with haptic feedback (vibrating touchscreen), 2 megapixel camera, and A2DP Bluetooth. Bigger brother LG Voyager comes packing the big guns - like a huge external touchscreen and internal display with a vertical clamshell setup that reveals a full QWERTY keyboard. As the successor to Verizon’s LG VX9900 , the LG Voyager will sport a full-HTML browser and stereo speakers. Look for these handsets to be available through the next month. Pricing information is not yet available. Good luck with them holiday sales numbers, Verizon. We hear that Apple and HTC are gunning for the top spot in that game. • RIM announces CDMA BlackBerry Pearl 8130 - the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 with GPS

Research In Motion (RIM), makers of the venerable BlackBerry lineup of smartphones, has finally announced their anticipated BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 as the CDMA BlackBerry Pearl 8130. The update to the Pearl lineup is the first BlackBerry Pearl for email addicts on a CDMA network (Verizon/Sprint). We’re expecting the BlackBerry 8130 to bring some updated software to the CDMA-table. The new OS will feature a new Browser (with a “ Page View” option that displays the entire website and a magnifying glass that let’s you zoom in on different sections) , new font-rendering (making smaller fonts easier to read), and a revamped Inbox application. But it doesn’t end there. As expected , the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 (8130) will rock integrated GPS and navigation with BlackBerry maps. And, the SureType keyboard, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot, and 3.5mm headphone jack will be complemented with a new, 2 megapixel camera. Look for CDMA carriers to pick up this new BlackBerry Pearl 8130 next month - which bodes well for our leaked information that Sprint will be launching this BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 over the Thanksgiving Day Weekend . Pricing is not yet available.
