  • PHOTOVIEW: Palm Treo Pro Windows Mobile Professional Smartphone

    Palm just recently launched its latest Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, the Palm Treo Pro and thanks to Palm Germany and Vodafone Germany, I got my hands on Palm's Treo 750 follower, which went available across Europe exclusively from Vodafone. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201 CPU at 400 MHz, the Treo Pro features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS capabilities. The inbuilt 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM can be expanded with microSDHC memory cards up to 32 GB and while the device lacks a front facing camera for video telephony, it features a 2.0 megapixel main camera on the back.   • PHOTOVIEW: Palm Treo 500 Windows Mobile Smartphone

    Not that the Palm Treo 500 is anything dramatically new, far from it - it's Palm's unbranded version of the Palm Treo 500v (see our previous review here) which Palm exclusively launched with Vodafone Autumn last year. Nevertheless, Palm's Treo 500 is now also available without the Vodafone branding and exclusivity and Palm Germany was kind enough to send one over to have a follow-up review, also to compare the vanilla Treo 500 with Vodafone's Treo 500v version. Most important for German customers - the unbranded Treo 500 is now available in charcoal gray while Vodafone (Germany's) Treo 500v was available in glacier white only.     Following the earlier hands-on, I finally found the time for some better photos of the recently announced Palm Treo 500v Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone which also includes some comparison to other Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphones.   • PHOTOVIEW: Palm Treo 500v Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone

    I know, you love device photos as much as I do and while I hadn't too much time for my first series of photos on Tuesday, today I've spent my second 30 minutes with the recently released Palm Treo 500v to snap some more photos for you. Unfortunately I don't have a device yet to review it here, but I got promised to get one soon that I can follow up with a review ASAP. I have to admit that the more time I spend with Palm's latest Windows Mobile device (and its first Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone), the more I like it. Sure, it misses some (for me important) features but I'm not the benchmark here. Far from it; if it is well priced, I see a bright future for it.
