  • UNVEILED: Palm Treo Pro Windows Mobile Smartphone shortly showed its face

Not that the Palm Treo Pro is officially announced yet but somehow, a Flash video demonstration briefly appeared on Palm's very own website (it has since been removed). Nevertheless, some screenshots stay and from what it looks, it might be the earlier leaked and so far as Palm Treo 850w aka "Palm Drucker" Windows Mobile Professional smartphone which features Palm's typical QWERTY thumb-keyboard. While the recently launched Palm Treo 800w is working in CDMA networks only, it's expected that the Palm Treo 850w (or Palm Treo Pro as we've learned now) is Palm's Treo 750 follower and therefore works with GSM and UMTS. • LEAK: Palm Treo 800w shows its face on the first photo

While the Palm Treo 800w isn't yet official, it seems Palm Infocenter got its hand on the first photo of Palm's next Windows Mobile smartphone. Most likely the Treo 800w will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional which makes it a touch screen device and it's expected to feature a 320 x 320 resolution, as used by Samsung for the SGH-i780. Expected to be powered by a 400 MHz CPU and 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM it will be Palm's first EVDO REV-A, GPS and WiFi smartphone. • UNVEILED: Palm Treo Drucker aka Treo 800 shows its face

While the new Palm Treo Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, which will replace the Palm Treo 750 later this year, and codenamed "Drucker", was mentioned in Vodafone UK's earlier leaked roadmap, the roadmap didn't had a photo of the device but a placeholder only. Nevertheless, during Bill Gats' CES keynote a Palm Treo Windows Mobile smartphone was briefly shown on a slide which is - most likely - the Palm Drucker, also expected to be released as Palm Treo 800 or Treo 850. The Treo shown at the presentation isn't anything of today's available or known smartphones and it clearly sports Windows Mobile Professional and the Start and OK button which is another indication that this must be the Drucker or at least a touchscreen devices. • RUMOR: Is this the new Palm Treo 800w Windows Mobile Pocket PC?

Take the following info with a necessary grain of salt since there is no further confirmation. But over at the treocentral.com forums, a user has posted a rendering of a device he calls the Palm Treo 800w and which he got it from a solutions engineer at Sprint (which means the Treo 800w would be a CDMA device). Doesn't looks to bad, if you ask me. Either it's true and in this case Palm did a good job or it's a fake which means Palm should hire the artist for its next like of Windows Mobile smartphones: [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
