  • Motorola VE20 lands on Alltel

Alltel isn’t usually known as the first U.S. mobile operator to get the device first. To be fair, they scored the LG Glimmer before everyone else, but that phone seems designed for the rural operator exclusively. That being said, we were kind surprised to see them being the first to announce the Motorola VE20. After all, [...]
  • Alltel adds the Motorola VE20

Filed under: Handsets , Motorola , Alltel , EV-DO , CDMA Alltel isn't typically the first US carrier to release much of anything, with the notable exception of Glimmer . That's alright -- coming it at number five, they probably don't have quite the sway with manufacturers that a Verizon or a Sprint does, for example -- and that'll all change soon enough anyway once the Verizon acquisition goes through. In the meantime, though, Alltel's following Sprint in its release of Motorola's VE20 , a midrange flip with an outer touchscreen, 2-megapixel cam, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It'll be available starting this Thursday for $99.99 with contract and rebate in navy and licorice, but if you're dying to get a head start, you can go ahead and preorder now. • MOTORAZR VE20 Launched by Alltel

All you Alltelians out there in need of a good-featured and inexpensive clamshell, check out Alltel’s latest phone: MOTORAZR VE20. Already available in the US via Sprint, Motorola’s VE20 is presented by Alltel as the lightest phone from the RAZR family. And it really is, since it weighs only 3.17 oz (~89 grams). MOTORAZR VE20 is [...]
  • Motorola's shockingly lime Q9c in the flesh

Filed under: Handsets , Motorola , Alltel , Windows Mobile , EV-DO , CDMA , US Cellular The great unasked question, "what would a buttoned-up, business smartphone look like in the same color as this pie I'm eating?" has finally been answered, thanks to the good folks at Motorola. This here Q9c is destined for Alltel and US Cellular , and we have to admit, it's actually pretty attractive. Could we actually see ourselves sliding one in our pocket? Eh, that might be going a bit far, but we think they'll manage to push a few of these suckers off shelves. %Gallery-19594% Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
  • Alltel, U.S. Cellular add MOTO Q9c in Black and Lime

Today Alltel Wireless and U.S. Cellular announced availability of the Motorola Q9c on their networks. We've already covered the MOTO's smartphone in the past, so I'll just recap the basics — there's a 2.4" screen, full QWERTY keyboard, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, 128MB of on-board memory, Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition, and a memory [...]
  • Lime green Motorola Q9c headed to Alltel, US Cellular

Filed under: Handsets , Motorola , Alltel , Windows Mobile , EV-DO , CDMA , US Cellular Don't you dare say green wasn't already in style , as in all actuality, it's US Cellular and Alltel following the crowd yet again. As the run-up to CTIA 2008 continues, the aforesaid outfits have both announced that a lime green variant of the Motorola Q9c will soon be on their shelves. Aside from that, prospective customers can also snap up the WinMo 6-powered Q9c in licorice, and of course, they'll find a 1.3-megapixel camera, 2.4-inch display and 128MB of onboard memory. As for pricing, you can call Alltel's version your own for $99.99 on contract, and while US Cellular is being mum on the subject, both providers will have 'em available "this summer." • Alltel launches Motorola MOTOROKR Z6m slider

It looks like Alltel is jumping on board the MOTOROKR train. The attractive Motorola MOTOROKR Z6m musicphone has hit the Alltel network as the slider of choice for fans of Motorola’s slick design and music-centric features. With stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, and USB 2.0 connectivity, the $130 (after contract and rebate) MOTOROKR Z6m is sure to appeal to the hip-and-stylish set with a mind for penny pinching - this isn’t the Z6tv so you won’t get any mobile TV, but you’ll pay a bit less. Check out that interesting “tattoo” etching on the keypad (there’s also some tattooing on the backside), it looks pretty cool. If this thing had some decent on-board storage, it’d blast the Samsung Juke right out of the water - it’s soo much prettier. Actually, even without the onboard storage capacity of the Juke , the Alltel MOTOROKR Z6m could give Verizon a run for it’s money/customers. ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Alltel drops Motorola RAZR2 V9mLive shots of the Motorola ROKR U9 PEBLMotorola Goes Official With Four CDMA Mobiles - ROKR Z6m, RAZR maxx Ve, W385, W355MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth FM transmitterAlltel launches WHERE - Location based service comes to Alltel
  • Alltel slides out Motorola MOTOROKR Z6m

Filed under: Handsets , Motorola , Alltel , EV-DO , CDMA It's been kicking around for most of this year , so we're glad to see that Alltel finally saw fit to get Motorola's rather attractive Z6m slider out and into customers' hands (a Z6tv it ain't, but you'll save a little coin). Anyway, the slider's a solid choice for mobile music on account of its 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo Bluetooth support, microSD slot, and USB 2.0 connectivity. Alltel's very own Celltop system is naturally supported, as is TeleNav GPS -- and if that's not enough to convince you, maybe the "tattoo" across the keypad and rear will (we have to admit, it really doesn't look that annoying). Get it starting today for $129.99 on contract after rebate. [Thanks, Dizzy] Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

  • Come and get your love: Alltel's upcoming lineup?

Filed under: Handsets , HTC , Motorola , Palm , RIM , UTStarcom , Alltel , Windows Mobile , EV-DO , CDMA With major releases like the Motorola RAZR 2 V9m and BlackBerry 8830 in its rear-view mirror, Alltel's been doing a commendable job keeping up with its larger, national rivals -- and if our intel's accurate, we can expect the trend to continue. In the smartphone department, the Palm Treo 755p should be launching pretty shortly (alright, granted, they're a little late on this one) along with the 8130 variant of the so-called Pearl 2 from RIM, a nice stablemate for the more businesslike 8830. One wildcard that we're hearing about here is the UTStarcom 6850 -- it's not clear what this device is, but given the UTStarcom branding on HTC's PPC-6800, it's conceivable to think that this could be some sort of mild refresh. Then again, it could be some totally boring low-end device sourced from a generic ODM, so we'll just have to play the waiting game on that one. From Motorola, look for two: a U5 (likely a new CDMA PEBL, given the "U" prefix on the model number) and the MOTOROKR Z6m . Not bad if it all pans out, eh?
