    Smartphones may be getting the credit for consumer interest in the mobile Web, but in reality the less-expensive phones such as the Motorola RAZR and KRZR as well as several Samsung models are actually the most popular with mobile Web browsers. According to Admob research, nearly 36 percent of all mobile ads served up by the firm were sent to a Motorola phone, with the RAZR and KRZR coming up as the first and second most popular models.   • AdMob, Unicast partner on mobile advertising

    Mobile advertising marketplace AdMob announced a partnership with digital marketing and advertising technology firm Unicast to power advertisers' mobile web pages via the Unicast Rich Media Mobile platform. According to Unicast, the Rich Media Mobile platform--compatible with multiple devices from AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile--offers a hosted delivery and tracking solution for optimized rich mobile web page content, promising the tools for advertisers and agencies to efficiently create, deliver and measure the effectiveness of mobile ad initiatives. AdMob and Unicast have previously teamed on mobile ad campaigns for brands including Land Rover, SCJohnson and Adidas, collaborating on rich, multi-page mobile web sites featuring data capture, video streaming, interactive store locators and wallpaper and ringtone downloads.   • Contec, AdMob team for mobile ad delivery

    Mobile software and services provider Contec Innovations announced an agreement with mobile advertising marketplace AdMob to provide mobile ads for delivery via Contec's BUZmob publishing service, which offers web-based content mobilization and delivery solutions to news agencies, media companies, blog platforms and social networks. According to Contec, BUZmob enables publishers to translate content to the mobile platform in minutes, while AdMob now serves over one billion ad impressions per month, connecting over 2,000 mobile web site publishers with hundreds of brand and direct response advertisers. "AdMob's tools make it easy for us to effectively deliver, manage, and track mobile ad traffic for our numerous publisher partners," said Don Lay, Contec Innovations president and CEO.
