  • PLATFORMS: Microsoft Danger launches a new T-Mobile Sidekick

Not that Danger's new Sidekick, which is available since yesterday from T-Mobile USA, is running Windows Mobile yet, it's nevertheless an interesting development because Microsoft took-over Danger back in February. Therefore it's interesting to see how Microsoft deals with different platforms and user interfaces for mobile devices. As a matter of fact, Microsoft now has three mobile device platforms: Windows Mobile (which is even divided into phone and non-phone as well as touch- and non-touchscreen platforms), Zune and now the Sidekick which wants to introduce (another) innovative software, services and hardware customization that improve an already celebrated mobile experience. • RUMOR: Zune Phone (finally?) in the works at Microsoft?

No, this is neither confirmed nor have I heard anything but this rumor is constantly popping-up, here and there. Nevertheless, jkOnTheRun has received a - as James Kendrick said - "totally unconfirmed information from a reader" (who wishes to remain anonymous) that Microsoft is indeed working on a Zune phone. jkOnTheRun's source got information about a meeting this week in Redmond that was planning a Zune phone to compete with Apple's iPhone. Furthermore, the source got information that Microsoft's Zune phone will be based on a special version of Microsoft's next Windows Mobile version which is so far known as "Windows Mobile 7" and the key functionality of the phone is expected to be centered around Windows Live (Mobile) Services. • BETA: Microsoft releases Beta Windows Media Center SideShow Gadget

Brilliant, one of my very personal hot topics is Microsoft's SideShow technology for Windows Vista which is a technology for distributing interactive content to connected small-screen devices, such as Windows Mobile smartphones. The content is created and managed by small software applications called SideShow gadgets. And while Microsoft finally released the long awaited SideShow application for Windows Mobile a while ago, even if yet available as an early Beta only, one of the most anticipated SideShow gadget wasn't available so far - a Windows Vista Media Center gadget to remote control the Media Center from mobile devices like smartphones. • UPDATE: Microsoft launches new features to Live Search for Windows Mobile
