  • AVAILABLE: Microsoft opens Live Mesh Beta and releases Windows Mobile client

As promised by the Live Mesh team, today Microsoft opened it's Live Mesh service to the masses and removed the limitation on what countries you were able to sign up to use Live Mesh. The previous limitation was in place so Microsoft could complete its testing with various language and locale settings. Furthermore, the Live Mesh team rolled out an update which brings the service and PC software to Beta with significant new features, and includes the first technology previews of the promised Mac and Windows Mobile clients. Unfortunately, both Betas, the Mac and Windows Mobile client are restricted to certain countries for now as well as Microsoft is rolling out, during an initial testing phase, a limited amount of clients only. • BETA: Microsoft releases Beta Windows Media Center SideShow Gadget

Brilliant, one of my very personal hot topics is Microsoft's SideShow technology for Windows Vista which is a technology for distributing interactive content to connected small-screen devices, such as Windows Mobile smartphones. The content is created and managed by small software applications called SideShow gadgets. And while Microsoft finally released the long awaited SideShow application for Windows Mobile a while ago, even if yet available as an early Beta only, one of the most anticipated SideShow gadget wasn't available so far - a Windows Vista Media Center gadget to remote control the Media Center from mobile devices like smartphones.
