  • LG CP150 rolls into AT&T stores, not for sale just yet

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , GSM , EDGE If you're in the market for a cheap flip that looks like it's smiling at you, you needn't look any farther than LG's CP150 . Dummies of the grayish, low-end piece are starting to roll into AT&T stores alongside the equally-awesome Fuze , so we wouldn't be surprised to see slightly (and we do mean "slightly") more functional versions of the phone become available before the month's out. [Thanks, Kal] LG CP150 rolls into AT&T stores, not for sale just yet originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 06 Nov 2008 14:39:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds . • FCC reveals LG CP250 for AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , GSM , EDGE LG's generally one of the most consistently tightlipped companies when it comes to revealing details about upcoming handsets via FCC documentation; yes, granted, they've got to file certain documents, but they do so in the most obscure, boring way possible (take, for instance, the ID label samples, which show the same meaningless diagram for every single device they test). Imagine our surprise, then, to see that the LG CP250 flip has been revealed here in full AT&T battle regalia -- complete with a VGA cam, EDGE data, a pair of color displays, and that's just about it. We would've liked their one-in-a-million FCC reveal to be just a little more interesting, but hey, it's a start, LG. Keep it coming. [Via Phone Scoop ] Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
  • AT&T release dates through May (hint: no Vu)

Filed under: Handsets , Features , LG , Motorola , Samsung , Sony Ericsson , UTStarcom , ATT , Palm OS , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS We've just received a fresh round of release dates on AT&T, and if we had to pick a single word to describe the theme here, it'd be "colors." Shades upon shades of phones -- both new and old -- will see a release on AT&T in the next couple of months, starting with the Sony Ericsson Z750a , the first 3G Sony Ericsson to be released by a carrier in the States (but not in North America -- that honor belongs to Rogers ); it'll hit in your choice of gray, pink, or purple in early April. Like the a737 , the a437 gets done up in a whole spectrum -- gray, gold, and red, to be specific -- come mid April, alongside the workhorse Motorola V3xx in lavender, pink, gray, platinum, and red (noticing a trend with this whole gray thing?). It looks like the V3xx releases will be spaced out over a few weeks, for whatever reason, tapering off by the end of May. The now-ancient UTStarcom 5700 finally sees release toward the end of April more than a year after we first saw it in the FCC's business, giving a lower-end choice to the Windows Mobile faithful. Finally, May should bring about the LG CU720 Shine in black, following its initial offerings of silver and red. Oh, and it looks like the Motorola Z9 and the black Centro should be widely available pretty much any minute now -- stay tuned. Strangely missing from the list is the Vu , though that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be released by the end of May, it merely means that AT&T's not sure yet. Surprise, surprise. • A look at AT&T's pipeline, early March 2008 edition

Filed under: Handsets , LG , Motorola , Nokia , Pantech , Sony Ericsson , ATT , Symbian , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS We've already mentioned that the LG Vu is looking solid for a late March release after being held up (or so they say, anyway) to work through a few MediaFLO issues; we've now received independent confirmation that it's true -- assuming no more issues arise, of course -- but that's not all. No, far from it, in fact. The Sony Ericsson Z750 is apparently inbound for a release within two weeks, and along with the rugged Motorola W760 "Hurricane" (pictured), that should close out AT&T's March docket. Moving on to April and beyond, the Pantech "Breeze" is expected some time next month, but don't get too excited -- it's an entry level flip that should move out the door free on contract. The Motorola Z9 slider should lackadaisically stroll into stores in late April, and finally, we've heard that the Nokia N95 has been approved by the carrier's powers that be (!!!) and should be available in the second quarter; no word on whether it's the standard N95 or the N95 8GB , though. How about an N96 with MediaFLO while you're at it, guys? [Thanks, Kal] Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
  • AT&T's releases through early April: yes to Centro, no to Vu?

Filed under: Handsets , LG , Motorola , Palm , Sony Ericsson , UTStarcom , ATT , Palm OS , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS We've just been slipped some bittersweet information that we deliver with a heavy heart: AT&T's latest pricing information, which runs through April 7, apparently makes no mention of the hotly anticipated LG Vu . There's no mention of the Samsung Access , either, leading us to believe that the carrier's mobile TV launch may have been pushed out one more time for good measure. Of course, we suppose it's possible that there's no delay and they just haven't slipped pricing details to stores yet, but we're jaded enough at this point to say that another slip is entirely within the realm of reason. Now, onto some happier tidbits: the black version of the Shine should launch, along with the Sony Ericsson Z750 in pink, gray, and purple, the long-overdue 5700 low end smartphone, the white Centro sporting push-to-talk support, and the Motorola Z9 slider -- which AT&T curiously identifies as "ruggedized." We don't remember anything remotely rugged about the one we saw, but whatevs. [Thanks, Kal] Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
  • Shiny releases coming up for AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , LG , Samsung , ATT , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS In case our really poorly constructed pun in the title didn't help reveal what we're talking about, let's come right out with it: we're hearing that the LG CU720 Shine slider should be launching as soon as today, and certainly within the next handful of days. Along with it will be the CU515 (also from LG), the Samsung A747 flip, and the BlackJack2 on the smartphone end of the spectrum. It's a 3G cornucopia -- just in time for Thanksgiving, eh? • Want the LG CU515 now? Check Amazon, not AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS AT&T's yet to officially announce the LG CU515 , but no worries -- interested parties can start registering their desire to grab LG's latest 3G flip via Amazon right this second. It really isn't anything to get too fired up about, but hey -- we'll take just as many midrange 3G handsets for US frequencies as manufacturers want to pump out. The CU400 successor offers up a 1.3 megapixel camera, PTT support, stereo Bluetooth, microSD, and a monochrome external display, all while ditching the stub aerial that plagued its forebear. Actually, on second thought, take your time announcing this one, AT&T; we got kinda bored with it just rattling off the specs. • LG's CU515 for AT&T rocks the FCC

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS In our humblest of opinions, the LG CU400 looked out of date the very day it was released, so we're delighted to hear that its replacement is coming along nicely. The CU515, destined for AT&T's 3G network, has apparently passed FCC muster on its way to a supposed September release . We don't know much about the thing other than that it'll rock 3G data and sport a black outer shell, much like its predecessor. Kill the aerial while you're at it, eh, LG? • Pantech C150 and LG Trax now on AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , LG , Pantech , ATT , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS As expected , AT&T has officially added a couple to its stable -- one on the midrange and one at the very bottom. The LG Trax -- once known as the CU575 -- has gotten plenty of press recently as the anticipated replacement for the CU500, offering stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, HSDPA, and a cool external touch strip for music control. The Pantech C150 , meanwhile, looks like a great candybar for the price (free, that is) considering that it still manages to rock a VGA cam and Bluetooth support, and we're digging the pure white. Grab both now for $130 and $0 on contract, respectively. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in] Read - Pantech C150 Read - LG Trax Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
  • AT&T's LG CU575 to be called "Trax" -- release imminent?

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , HSDPA It looks like CU500 shoppers may want to hold off for just a few days. Cases, cables, chargers, and other knickknacks for LG's latest hunk of 3G love for AT&T -- the shiny CU575 -- are said to be arriving in stores as we speak, suggesting that a release probably isn't too far off . Stay tuned! [Thanks, anonymous tipster] Update: Looks like the CU575's government name will be "Trax." Music theme, anyone? Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
