  • HTC Launches P3600i in Australia with Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional

Those lucky Aussies just got what no other European can hope for - an HTC P3600 Trinity packing the coveted Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS . HTC hasn’t blessed the P3600 with that long-awaited WM6 upgrade , but they’ve seen fit to release a juiced-up WinMo6.0 version for those living “down under” - the HTC P3600i (”i” stands for “improved?”). Apparently, the HTC P3600i won’t just be toting quad-band GSM radio (with UMTS/HSDPA) and Windows Mobile 6.0 in that yummy “Professional” flavor, it’ll be rocking a faster processor and double the ROM memory - 500 Mhz Samsung CPU and 256 MB ROM, to be exact. 3 Australia is offering this suped up HTC P3600 Trinity for 622 Euro ($839), free and clear of any contracts. We don’t know if HTC has any plans to bring this thing to the EU or US, we’ll just have to wait and see. We love waiting. • HTC pushes back Windows Mobile 6.0 updates for European lineup

IntoMobile Where the heck are our Windows Mobile 6.0 upgrades for our HTC handsets! HTC promised us incremental upgrades to the upper-end of their European lineup (HTC branded handsets) back in mid-April - and we’re all still anxiously awaiting the new-phone feeling that the WinMo6.0 ROMS are likely to give. According to an XDA Developers forum user, the upgrades have been pushed back to sometime in Fall of this year. A personal email outlines “expected” plans to release the HTC S620 ROM sometime in September. Come on, HTC, you told us to expect the first ROM to be available for the S620 by June! What’s with this Fall release window? HTC loyalists have been up in arms over the company’s failure to deliver their WM6 upgardes on-time. The company’s excuse? The June rollout was referring to the release of the information regarding the upgrade - not the actual upgrade itself. Good one guys, you sure saved face on that one!
