  • HTC Touch Diamond finally gets FCC approval with US 3G HSDPA support!

Well that sure took a while. As the rest of the world had the honor of being part of HTC’s launch markets for the up and coming HTC Touch Diamond, the US has had to wait for HTC to push their US-spec HTC Touch Diamond through the FCC. The HTC Touch Diamond already passed [...]
  • Could the HTC Kaiser be coming to T-Mobile USA's 1700Mhz 3G network?

Well, at first glance, we’d be inclined to say no. But, upon closer examination of the HTC P4550 Kaiser’s FCC documentation , we’d have to give the possibility a resounding maybe. You see, the FCC documentation includes a users manual for the “ Holy Grail ” of mobile phones - and makes mention of both T-Mobile and 1700Mhz frequency support. Given screenshots, the presence of myFaves support, and mention of T-Mobile’s USA-specific tmobile.com web-address, we’re thinking that our favorite wireless carrier might just be getting the HTC Kaiser sometime soon. Oh, and there’s even mention of some delicious 1700Mhz support - which, as you’ll recall , is T-Mobile’s 3G frequency. Coincidence? We’d love to see HTC’s Kaiser hit T-Mo’s newly launched 3G network. • Qualcomm 3G chipsets in good shape - HTC set to launch 10 new Windows Mobile smartphones with Qualcomm 3G chips

Even with the US ITC having banned Qualcomm’s 3G chipsets from US import, the US-based chip-maker doesn’t seem to be hurting for business. Our favorite Windows Mobile smartphone maker, HTC, has announced that they will be launching 10 new WinMo smartphones using Qualcomm’s new 3G technology. HTC is the first smartphone maker to use Qualcomm’s new dual-core Mobile Station Modem (MSM) MSM7500 and MSM7200 3G chipsets. The tech is used in the HTC Mogul and HTC TyTN II Kaiser (both of which were recently launched) and should fall outside the scope fo the ITC trade ban on Qualcomm’s other 3G technologies. There’s definitely more than one way to skin a mobile-tech cat. If you can’t get your 3G chips into the US, just develop some new technology that will make it to Yankee shores. Now that’s what we call innovation. We expect to see a lot more from the renewed partnership between HTC and Qualcomm - bring on the 3G (while we wait for 4G, that is)! • FCC reveals HTC Cavalier - 3G successor to the HTC Excalibur

How many of you T-mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) owners love your phone but just wish you had some of that high-speed, 3G goodness? Well, HTC’s got your back. The HTC Cavalier comes to us as the successor to the HTC Excalibur (which is the T-mobile Dash that you guys love so much) and rocks a 3G radio that works on US-friendly frequencies. And, the FCC has just green-lighted the HTC Cavalier for release in the US. With the FCC’s approval, this GSM phone is likely to hit US shores, getting you you’re 3G fix, sometime soon. As is par for the course with these FCC glimpses, they’ve kept availability and pricing information on lockdown. We also have no confirmation (there are a lot of unknowns) on a possible carrier for the HTC Cavalier, but seeing as how it’s a GSM phone, we’re looking at AT&T to launch this thing. And, we’re expecting the HTC Cavalier to complement that awesome 3G data with some beautiful Windows Mobile 6.0 action. [Via: Engadget Mobile ]
