  • VIDEOVIEW: Hands-on with the HTC Touch HD Windows Mobile Smartphone

Following the previous photoview of HTC's upcoming HTC Touch HD, this 24 minutes videoview of HTC's new flagship Windows Mobile Professional smartphone shows you the hardware as well as software developments of the Touch HD. Thanks to O2 Germany, which will exclusively carry the HTC Touch HD in Germany, I got my hands on an early prototype and while the ROM built wasn't anything close to a release candidate, the hardware looked pretty final already. The HTC Touch HD is a real power-horse featuring a Qualcomm CPU at 528 MHz as well as supporting quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE but only dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA up to 7.2 Mbps. Other wireless technologies supported are WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS/aGPS and an FM radio: [ 3 Comments ] [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • VIDEOVIEW: HTC Touch Pro Software and GUI Hands-on

Following yesterday's hardware hands-on videoview of the HTC Touch Pro smartphone, this 10 min. videoview is about the software and GUI features of HTC's upcoming Windows Mobile smartphone. While the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro share the same platform, HTC had to change and enhance some Touch Diamond features because, contrary to the limited support at the Touch Diamond, the HTC Touch Pro is also designed to be used in landscape - with all applications. And while the accelerometer is still not used to automatically switch between the portrait and the landscape mode (but GSEN also works with the Touch Pro), the device switches between both modes as soon as the keyboard is opened or closed: [ 19 Comments ] [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • VIDEOVIEW: HTC Touch Pro Hardware Hands-on

Not yet released but soon available, this videoview shows you the hardware highlights of the upcoming HTC Touch Pro Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, previously known as HTC Raphael. The HTC Touch Pro is the perfect extension to HTC's earlier released HTC Touch Diamond and basically, both devices features the same specifications except that the Touch Pro will have a slide-out keyboard but lacks the 4 GB inbuilt flash memory. However, both devices run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and the HTC Touch Pro also supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE but also dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (900/2100 MHz) up to 7.2 Mbps for HSDPA and 2 Mbps for HSUPA. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g, an inbuilt GPS receiver as well as an FM radio. [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • PHOTOVIEW: Hands-on with the HTC Shift Windows Vista UMPC

One of my personal highlights of this week's HTC press events was the presentation of the HTC Shift, which was announced some months ago already but which I hadn't seen in person so far. What makes the Shift so interesting for me? Well, it's the combination of being smaller than a Notebook but more powerful than a Windows Mobile Professional smartphone while still connected through UMTS and HSDPA. I'm not using my Pocket PC Phone Editions for voice but I'm using it for mobile data access the whole day but for some tasks, like photo editing, I still need my Tablet PC. So that's where the HTC Shift comes into the game by offering Pocket PC portability with Notebook functionality. [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • PHOTOVIEW: Hands-on with the Artic Silver HTC Touch Windows Mobile Smartphone

If you are bored by black mobile devices like me or you simply cannot see it anymore because it seems black became in the mobile phone industry what beige was in the PC industry in the late 80s and early 90s, HTC has something new for you: the Arctic Silver HTC Touch. It's not another silver device (since silver was before what black is today) but it's shimmering somewhat warmer, not so cold. I must say that the Arctic Silver HTC Touch is definitely looking like a winner. Unfortunately, there is no Arctic Silver HTC Touch Dual planned yet but who knows - maybe HTC will update its color portfolio for the Christmas season anyway: [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved

The HTC S730 is the Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone I've awaited. The HTC S730 comes equipped with Windows Mobile 6 and 256 MB Flash memory wrapped in a sleek gun-metal grey casing: [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • PHOTOVIEW: Hands-on with the HTC Touch Dual Windows Mobile Smartphone

Following yesterday's official announcement of the HTC Touch Dual Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone, today I had some time to play with it and snapping some photos for your enjoyment. Overall I can say that the Touch Dual is lovely and well done. It's a little bit smaller than the HTC Touch but also a little bit longer and I'm quite impressed from the enhanced TouchFLO user interface as well as from the QWERTY keyboard which works pretty good. I'm sure the 20-keys version will become the bestseller (you see photographed bellow), not the traditional phone keypad version. [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
