  • VIDEOVIEW: HTC Touch Pro Software and GUI Hands-on

Following yesterday's hardware hands-on videoview of the HTC Touch Pro smartphone, this 10 min. videoview is about the software and GUI features of HTC's upcoming Windows Mobile smartphone. While the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro share the same platform, HTC had to change and enhance some Touch Diamond features because, contrary to the limited support at the Touch Diamond, the HTC Touch Pro is also designed to be used in landscape - with all applications. And while the accelerometer is still not used to automatically switch between the portrait and the landscape mode (but GSEN also works with the Touch Pro), the device switches between both modes as soon as the keyboard is opened or closed: [ 19 Comments ] [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • VIDEOVIEW: HTC Touch Pro Hardware Hands-on

Not yet released but soon available, this videoview shows you the hardware highlights of the upcoming HTC Touch Pro Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, previously known as HTC Raphael. The HTC Touch Pro is the perfect extension to HTC's earlier released HTC Touch Diamond and basically, both devices features the same specifications except that the Touch Pro will have a slide-out keyboard but lacks the 4 GB inbuilt flash memory. However, both devices run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and the HTC Touch Pro also supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE but also dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (900/2100 MHz) up to 7.2 Mbps for HSDPA and 2 Mbps for HSUPA. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g, an inbuilt GPS receiver as well as an FM radio. [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • VIDEOVIEW: Unboxing the HTC Touch Diamond Windows Mobile Smartphone

Thanks to HTC I've just received a brand new HTC Touch Diamond which is officially on sale in Europe since this week. It took a little bit longer for HTC to send it over to me because it got a ROM update just before it was sent out and now includes the latest ROM build which also features the TouchFLO 3D improvements I've mentioned earlier. This videoview is about the unboxing only and shows what the HTC Touch Diamonds comes with (which includes the device, a stereo headset, the charger, the USB to mini USB cable as well as a spare stylus but no pouch): [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
  • VIDEOVIEW: HTC Touch Diamond Hardware Walkthrough

This Videoview shows some of the hardware high- and lowlights of the HTC Touch Diamond, HTC's latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone. Sporting 192 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM and 4 GB of inbuilt memory, the HTC Touch Diamond lacks an expansion slot for SD memory cards. Nevertheless, it features a VGA touchscreen as well as a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera on the back and a QVGA video telephony camera on the front. The function buttons bellow the touchscreen, two of them - the Home and Back buttons look like Windows Mobile Standard keys - aren't touch-sensitive, even if they look like, but there is an exception - a touch sensitive ring around the D-Pad which can be used to zoom in/out in certain applications like the photo and video album, Google Maps Mobile or Opera Mobile 9.5. • PHOTOVIEW: HTC Advantage X7510 Windows Mobile UMPC Smartphone

HTC's new Advantage X7510 is a Windows Mobile smartphone of its own category. While it features Microsoft's recently released Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone OS it's design-wise quite unique, featuring a flat touch-sensitive QWERTY keyboard with haptic feedback which can be attached to the main body using a magnetic mechanism. The device features a huge 5" touchscreen and features, in addition to its 128 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM 16 GB solid state disk storage. With the X7510, HTC removed the 5-way navigation joystick as well as the Start and OK keys from the main body but the device has now used with the stylus or thumb (or with the attached keyboard). • PHOTOVIEW: HTC Touch Diamond Leather Pouch

While a carrying case isn't part of the HTC Touch Diamond, HTC will offer a quite clever pouch case as accessory which protects the HTC Touch Diamond from scrapes and scratches. Quite similar to LG's Prada case, this black pouch case features a clever holding mechanism allowing users to insert Touch Diamond either from the top or the bottom of the pouch with a hidden internal strap which prevent the device from unintentionally falling out. Furthermore, the lining is made of microfiber which cleans the devices touchscreen and the glossy battery cover: [ Permalink ] (c) 2008 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved

Following HTC's earlier HTC Advantage X7510 announcement from last February, I've recently received HTC's latest reincarnation of the HTC Advantage which now features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, an increased 16 GB solid state disk storage and an improved keyboard with haptic feedback. The updated HTC Advantage includes HTC's customized HTC Today screen, as seen first with the HTC Touch, that provides one-touch access to E-Mails, SMS text messages, missed calls, calendar appointments and contacts, current weather conditions and forecasts as well it now features HTC's TouchFLO software for enhanced finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages. • VIDEOVIEW: HTC TouchFLO 3D User Interface for Windows Mobile Professional

VIDEOVIEW: HTC TouchFLO 3D User Interface for Windows Mobile Professional Together with today's HTC Touch Diamond announcement, HTC also announced a new version of its HTC TouchFLO UI - previously codenamed as "Manila UI" and now called TouchFLO 3D - which follows the first TouchFLO UI which was initially introduced last year with the launch of the HTC Touch. Like last year, we already had some quality time with HTC's latest GUI development which we tested on a preproduction unit of O2 Germany's upcoming O2 Xda diamond. Unlike the first TouchFLO, TouchFLO 3D is now part of the Windows Mobile Today screen or better - it completely replaced Microsoft's Windows Mobile Today screen. • VIDEOVIEW: Unboxing the HTC Shift Windows Vista / Windows Mobile UMPC

Finally, after HTC's first UMPC, the HTC Shift was delayed several times, two days ago I've finally received my German Shift with the much appreciated German QWERTZ keyboard. Running on Windows Vista Business and a kind of locked Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the HTC Shift supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps, as well as WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Powered by a Intel CPU at 800 MHz and backed-up by 1 GB or RAM, the HTC Shift is able to run Windows Vista Professional. If not needed, there's a second OS installed, which is a locked Windows Mobile 6 Professional HTC calls SnapVUE, which runs on a Qualcomm MSM 7200 CPU at 400 MHz. • PHOTOVIEW: HTC Touch Dual 12-Keys Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone

While O2 Germany's version of the HTC Nike, the O2 Xda star, follows the design of the Xda nova, HTC's Touch Dual follows the design of the HTC Touch. With a slightly different D-Pad and smaller call keys, HTC has released the HTC Touch Dual in two different keyboard versions: a kind of traditional 12-keys phone pad and a 20-keys SureType-like QWERTY keyboard. Thanks to HTC I recently received a 12-keys phone pad HTC Touch Dual which is - other than the keypad layout - the same as O2's Xda star, the Orange's HTC Touch or T-Mobile's upcoming MDA Touch Plus, featuring Windows Mobile 6 Professional and a Qucalcomm CPU at 400 MHz and supporting triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as singleband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps: [ Permalink ] (c) 2007 by the::unwired - All Rights Reserved
