Notably, the built-in WiFi, Bluetooth , HSDPA, click-wheel, three-megapixel camera, integrated GPS, and Windows Mobile 6 operating system were all highly praised, but the lackluster 320 x 240 resolution display looked to be a (critical) weak point. Nevertheless, the device does look pretty sharp (or maybe we're just suckers for all that connectivity), so be sure and click through for a look at the interview. Rumors of a Nokia N95 packing American HSDPA have been spreading like wildfire as of late, and we're ecstatic to see that they were totally true. Though this sucker gets down with the 850 and 1900MHz bands, it doesn't get in on the 1700MHz action, suggesting that if the T-Mobile rumor is still true, this ain't it. Though arguably not quite as attractive as the decidedly non-US 8GB N95 in black that we saw this morning, this phone's innards are pretty much the most beautiful thing we've seen all day. While just about every citizen in Europe twiddles their thumbs and awaits an iPhone announcement for their side of the pond, more than a few impatient souls have been looking for ways to utilize the device in their homeland right away. Most recently, however, is an intriguing report that a US-sourced iPhone is functioning fine (save for the lack of visual voicemail) on Vodafone after a user swapped an AT&T SIM card into an O2 XDA, had the carrier add it to his current contract, and then stuffed the now-Vodafone-compliant AT&T SIM back into the iPhone. Interestingly, hordes of IRC participants are balking at the story, suggesting that SIM numbers are network specific and that Vodafone should not have been able to pull off the aforementioned feat of magic. Hmm, we wonder if Vodafone's bubbling excitement to get ahold of Apple's handset could have anything to do with it? Filed under: Handsets , Interviews , ATT , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , Apple , OS X Thankfully for us all, the iPhone launch is but hours away, and what better way to make those last second decisions on braving the crowds (or not ) than to read over what's likely to be the last pre-iPhone-launch interview with both Apple and AT&T's head honchos? Sitting down with USAToday , Steve Jobs and Randall Stephenson faced a number of dutiful questions, and a few of the answers were intriguing to say the least. Besides bragging about revolutionizing the mobile phone industry and finally producing "a phone people like," the duo noted that the 6:00PM launch time was chosen to give "everyone the same shot" at nabbing one, and they both made it seem like shortages wouldn't be too much of an issue . Most noticeable was the dodging of the inevitable EDGE inquiries, as both execs spent more time boasting of the iPhone's ability to "fluidly switch from EDGE to WiFi" than actually responding to the "sluggish" criticism received thus far. Furthermore, Jobs noted that Apple was already working with a number of companies in regard to corporate email, and while he wouldn't budge when questioned about an overseas release , he did state that "selling 10 million" during its first year was a "realistic goal." Chosen to lead off the GSM Association's "3G for all" campaign to bring high-speed data outside its typical industrialized comfort zone, the 15mm candybar goes on sale this month in parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East on a variety of carriers. Pricing will likely vary from market to market, but the goal is to keep it cheap -- pretty impressive considering the phone's video calling capability, media player with support for AAC+ and WMA, microSD expansion, and 1.3 megapixel cam. Filed under: Handsets , Nokia , GSM , GPRS , EDGE , UMTS We'd caught wind of rumors of a Nokia 6267 in the past; normally, a four-digit Nokia doesn't really catch our attention -- at least in unsubstantiated rumor form -- but it turns out that this one'll feature some North America-friendly 3G. FCC documents released today indicate that the phone, said to feature a QVGA screen and comprehensive media support, will sport WCDMA 850 in addition to GSM 850 and 1900 (though strangely, we weren't able to track down any mention of WCDMA 1900). We also know from the filing that Bluetooth is in the cards, and in all likelihood, it'll rock Series 40. Could this be AT&T's successor to the never-released 6282 ?
