HTC today announced the launch of a new Windows Mobile Standard smartphone, the S740 which follows, with its QWERTY slide-out keyboard, the design-concept of the HTC Touch Pro but also features a traditional 12-keys phone-pad. At a size of 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm and weight of 140 gram, HTC's latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard smartphone features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband (900/2100 MHz) UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS/AGPS. Unveiled back in February already, Samsung today announced the open market availability of the SGH-i200 Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard smartphone. Featuring triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz and singleband UMTS/HSDPA at 2100 MHz (up to 3.2 Mbps) as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (including A2DP), the i200 unfortunately lacks WiFi and GPS. On the back the i200 sports a  2.0 megapixel camera with face detection technology and smile-shot functionality; while on the front it has an additional VGA camera for UMTS video telephony. Announced by HTC as the S730 back in October last year , O2 UK today unveiled the launch of the O2 Xda Atmos, its version of HTC's Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone which adds UMTS/HSDPA and a 400 MHz processor for those consumers and business professionals who want high speed connectivity . The O2 Xda Atmos is a compact smartphone phone which features an auto-sliding QWERTY keyboard making it an ideal choice for the mobile professional who needs easy access to E-Mail, messaging and the internet while out of the office. Equipped with Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the Xda Atmos supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and singleband UMTS/HSDPA at 2100 MHz as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and WiFi b/g and features 256 MB of ROM and 64 MB of RAM: The Xda Atmos is now available from O2 UK but currently listed for O2 business customers only. Neither mentioned nor featured on today's Samsung press conference, Samsung also officially unveiled the previously seen Samsung SGH-i200 today. Being an entry-level smartphone (that's what an Samsung spokesman told me) the i200 features Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as singleband UMTS/HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Because of its target group, WiFi is left, unfortunately. While Toshiba yesterday officially announced the Portégé G710 Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone, Vodafone Germany recently unveiled it will launch Toshiba's new GPS smartphone under its own brand as the "Vodafone VDA GPS" (VDA is the acronym for Vodafone's touchscreen-less Windows Mobile smartphones). Since the VDA GPS is based on the Portégé G710, it can be expected that it's also featuring Windows Mobile 6 Standard with support for quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth 1.2 while WiFi is left.
