Unveiled earlier as the Palm Treo 850w and even somewhat confirmed by Palm last week already, today Palm officially announced its latest Windows Mobile smartphone, the Palm Treo Pro. With its streamlined design and Palm shortcuts layered on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the Treo Pro is a combination of sleek simplicity and robust productivity by featuring quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS capabilities. The Palm Treo Pro has 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM which can be expanded with microSDHC memory cards, up to 32 GB. Following Samsung's earlier announcement to launch the SGH-i900 Omnia Windows Mobile Professional this summer, Samsung Germany just unveiled the German release date and price for Germany. In Germany, the i900 Omnia will be available from 6th August and without a contract, the 8 GB version will be available for 649 Euro. Furthermore, Samsung confirmed that the i900 Omnia will be available from all four German carriers (T-Mobile, Vodafone, E-Plus and O2); while so far only O2 Germany was confirmed. The SGH-i900 Omnia runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and singleband UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps. Following today's official announcement of SGH-i900, O2 Germany unveiled that it's launching Samsung's i900 OMNIA later this summer. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, the i900 is powered by a Marvel I 320LV which supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps. Furthermore, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR are on board as well as a an FM radio and a GPS receiver. The Synaptics 3.2" WQVGA (240 x 400 pixel) touch screen features haptics and vibrations give users feedback when the display is touched. The built-in autofucus camera supports 5.0 megapixel and O2's version of the i900 will comes with 8 GB which is expandable with microSD memory cards. With today's announcement of HTC's Touch Pro, we've also got the word that O2 Germany will launch its version of the HTC Raphael under the Xda brand (the name isn't unveiled yet) later this summer as well. So far it's somewhat confirmed that "O2's Raphael" will also feature Windows Mobile 6.1, triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz) as well as UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (900/2100 MHz) up to 7.2 Mbps, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi b/g as well as GPS. Furthermore we heard that O2's Xda will also include the from the HTC Touch Diamond/Xda diamond known FM radio and and motion-sensor. T-Mobile Germany just sent in the official specs-sheet for the recently unveiled T-Mobile MDA Vario IV and therefore the speculation is over now. Based on HTC's Raphael reference design, the Vario IV features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. It's powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7200 CPU at 528 MHz and supports triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz), dualband UMTS/HSDPA (850/2100 MHz) up to 7.2 Mbps as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g and GPS (an FM radio isn't mentioned). The MDA Vario IV is backed up by 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM which is expandable through microSD memory cards.
