  • Nokia E71 finally coming to AT&T as E71x

Filed under: Handsets , Nokia , ATT , Symbian , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS We've been hearing for ages that there was a super-special version of the E71 with an AT&T ROM floating around somewhere in Nokia's skunkworks, but solid evidence of its existence has been scarce to say the least; some said it was canceled, some said it was just taking its sweet time going through the testing process, and some put a hand over our mouth and told us never to speak "AT&T" and "E71" in the same sentence again lest an agent overhear us. New in-the-wild shots give us -- and the North American S60-loving public -- newfound hope that the phone's gonna actually happen, but it'll emerge as the "E71x." That's a new suffix for Nokia, so we really have no idea what it might mean -- more internal memory would be cool, but we're not really counting on it. Word is that it'll be available for something in the $150 range when it finally hits, so if the 6650 isn't your cup o' tea, hang tight. (And by the way, guys, we're totally digging the black.) • LG Incite for AT&T, now with more official

Filed under: Handsets , LG , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE We noticed this on AT&T's web store in the wee hours this morning, and sure enough, they've gone ahead and announced the LG Incite in all its official glory today (normally the announcement comes before the web store stuff, but whatever). It's got WiFi, a 3-megapixel camera, a 3-inch touchscreen equipped with haptics and 400 x 240 resolution, AT&T Navigator, microSD support up to 16GB, triband HSDPA, and Windows Mobile 6.1 -- in other words, LG's produced a nice QWERTY-less foil to the Fuze here. It's available straight away in stores, too, as long as you're willing to shell out the $199.99 on contract after rebates. • LG Incite for sale on AT&T's site, $199.99 on contract

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS Goodness, that was quick! We'd expected LG's Incite smartphone to pop up maybe by the end of the week if we were lucky, did all of our homework, and went to bed on time, but AT&T's gone ahead and jumped the gun by throwing up the glossy touchphone for sale already. To recap, most of the rumored specs were spot on: wide QVGA, 3-megapixel cam, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, WiFi, and GPS round out a promising feature set, but you're going to pay to the tune of $299.99 on contract before a $100 mail-in rebate on a Visa gift card. What happened to good, old-fashioned cash? [Thanks, Luis] LG Incite for sale on AT&T's site, $199.99 on contract originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Tue, 18 Nov 2008 01:19:00 EST. • LG Incite release imminent on AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , LG , ATT , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS LG and AT&T have done a pretty commendable job of keeping leaks about their glossy new WinMo set to a bare minimum, but you can only keep a phone this ritzy under wraps for so long, right? Word on the street is that AT&T stores will be ordering the LG Incite as of this Thursday, filling a gap in the lineup between the Vu and the Eternity -- full touchscreen dumbphones -- and the Fuze , the hot new QWERTY smartphone of the range. If the rumored specs hold up, we're looking at a WQVGA display, 3-megapixel cam, 3.6Mbps HSDPA, and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Any would-be Fuze buyers second-guessing themselves now? • Sony Ericsson C905a with AT&T firmware means... well, you know

Filed under: Handsets , Sony Ericsson , ATT , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS That "more bars in more places" startup sequence there look familiar? We're not rocket scientists, granted, but first of all, we have no idea what rocket science has to do with the mobile phone industry. Secondly, seeing a carrier-branded firmware show up on a hot new (and somewhat unexpected) model is bound to get some gears turning. The whole K850 debacle reminds us that a branded device can go all the way up to the last minute and still get tossed to the wayside -- and there's certainly precedent for such a tragic fate to happen to a Sony Ericsson, specifically -- but we can't help but let our minds wander to the possibilities of an 8-megapixel beast like the C905 landing on AT&T in the near future. Some lucky cat was offering a US-friendly C905a model for sale (don't bother logging into eBay, it's already been snatched up) allegedly burned with an AT&T ROM, suggesting that they're either looking into offering it or, at the very least, Sony Ericsson was pitching it to the boys and girls in Atlanta. If it's still getting tossed around, let us just voice our opinion here: yes, AT&T. Do it. • AT&T Fuze gets extravagant hands-on treatment

Filed under: Handsets , HTC , ATT , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA Now that HTC's Fuze is live on AT&T, a few lucky souls out there have gone ahead and emptied their wallets to make your purchasing decision just a little easier. The Fuze, otherwise known as the HTC Touch Pro, has been carefully photographed and videoed by the WinMo connoisseurs over at WMExperts , and quite candidly, we're simultaneously jealous and impressed with the level of detail here. If you're looking for loads of multimedia to keep you satisfied until you have a chance to score one of your own, the read link has the goods. • AT&T starts to hawk Samsung Eternity online

Filed under: Handsets , Samsung , ATT , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS If there's some pressing matter that's preventing you from making it out to an AT&T store, there's a plan B you might want to investigate now that the carrier's website has started offering the Samsung Eternity for sale. It'll run you the same $149.99 on contract after rebate that it's going for in-store -- or $379.99 commitment-free if your life is too awesome and chaotic to sign it away for two years. Any Vu owners planning on caving to temptation? [Thanks, rlamontjr] AT&T starts to hawk Samsung Eternity online originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Fri, 14 Nov 2008 08:33:00 EST. • Samsung a867 Eternity now in AT&T stores, ready to take you to the great beyond

Filed under: Handsets , Samsung , ATT , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS The TouchWiz onslaught is now officially in full force, with Samsung's SGH-a867 Eternity now starting to find its way into AT&T stores across the lands to match its Behold and Delve cousins. It's running $149.99 on contract after rebate, bringing MediaFLO , a full-face touchscreen, HSDPA, 3-megapixel cam, AT&T Navigator, and pretty much everything else you could hope for out of a high-end non-smartphone, so if the 6650 isn't pushing your buttons (nor the Vu ), maybe this'll do something for ya. • AT&T officially welcomes Symbian S60 back with Nokia 6650

Filed under: Handsets , Nokia , ATT , Symbian , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA For AT&T users craving a little Symbian S60 on contract, do we have some stellar news for you. After discovering that the carrier would be bringing the S60-based Nokia 6650 into its lineup in short order, we've since seen all the proof we need to keep our hearts fluttering. Now, AT&T is doing us all a favor by making things official: the 3G-capable 6650 will land in red and silver tomorrow for anyone who covets, and with it will come a 2-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch QVGA display, AT&T Navigator / Video Share / Mobile Music and a 1.36-inch external display to boot. The pain? $69.99 with a 2-year agreement. [Via phonescoop ] AT&T officially welcomes Symbian S60 back with Nokia 6650 originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 13 Nov 2008 11:28:00 EST. • Samsung a777 now available from AT&T

Filed under: Handsets , Samsung , ATT , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS Well, this is certainly shaping up to be an exciting week of launches for the orange and blue, isn't it? The colorful a777 from Samsung has now launched on AT&T, coming in four action-packed colors (though we're only seeing red and blue available on the carrier's website at the moment) and featuring 3G, a 1.3-megapixel camera, AT&T Navigator, and that awesome Video Share service that everyone uses. It's running $79.99 on contract after rebate, which seems a tad steep for a middling slider with a crappy cam, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it run on a holiday special or something before too long. • Fuze rears its glossy head in some AT&T stores

Filed under: Handsets , HTC , ATT , Windows Mobile , GSM , EDGE , HSDPA , UMTS Can't be long now, right? First we had dummies , but these are the real deal, ladies and gentlemen -- a little over five ounces of HSDPA, VGA, TouchFLO 3D, QWERTY, and likely a bunch more letters and numbers we're not recalling at the moment. Retail Fuzes are trickling into stores as we speak, though they're apparently going under lock and key; as far as we can tell, none will be sold until AT&T drops the green flag. In the meantime, Sprint, pimp that Touch Pro of yours as hard as you can, because we're afraid your exclusivity is about to end.
