  • Asus M930 is official - Nokia E90 competitor running Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard

Asus has gone official with their Nokia E90-fighter, the Asus M930. Complete with Nokia E90-stying, the lateral-flipper brings the “Communicator” goods to the Windows Mobile camp. Unfortunately, this brick-ish Asus M930 Communicator runs Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, so you won’t be getting your touch-on anytime soon with this handset. Still, if you’re looking for a WinMo alternative to the QWERTY-sliders from the likes of HTC, this Asus M930 Communicator might be your best bet. We already know everything there is to know about this tri-band GSM device, but here’s a quick rundown on the specs: - Windows Mobile 6 Standard - TI TI2431 processor at 450MHz - 3G + HSDPA - QVGA 2″ Screen (external) + 2.6″ WQVGA screen (internal) - 400×240 - Internal QWERTY, external 12 key keypad - 256MB ROM - 64MB RAM - WiFi / Bluetooth 2.0 - 2.0 Megapixel Autofocus Camera - microSD expansion - 158g - 113mm x 54mm x 18.7mm S eeing as how the Asus M930 Communicator isn’t slated to ship until CeBIT in March, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on this monster. • ASUS P550 Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone outed by FCC

Asus sure pulled a fast one on us. They’ve been pretty quiet recently about their Windows Mobile 6.0 offerings, and out of the blue we get word of the Asus P550 Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone from the FCC. Oh FCC, thanks again for the great scoopage. The spec sheet on the Asus P550 reads similarly to the Asus P750 that we brought you earlier. Which is to say, the feature list is pretty much everything we could ask for in a WinMo6 handset. The Asus P550 rocks a blazin’ 520Mhz, GPS, WiFi, 2 megapixel camera, and tri-band GSM radio with UMTS on the 2100Mhz frequency - all powered by the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS that’s pretty much a requisite of any respectable WM-based smartphone these days. And you get a miniSD card (what, no microSD?) slot to supplement the 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM of onboard memory. No word on pricing or availability, but you can bet that we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. • HTC TyTn II P4550 Kaiser could rock HSUPA

With the recent release of the uber-smartphone from HTC, we’re squirming in our seats for AT&T to bring us the HTC Kaiser TyTn II P4550 as the AT&T Tilt . The HTC Kaiser will be the most bad-ass smartphone on the market - with integrated GPS, quad-band GSM with tri-band UMTS (HSDPA makes this thing 3.5G), 3 megapixel autofocus camera, Bluetooth 2.0, 256MB ROM/128MB RAM, WiFi b/g, 2.8 inch display, Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, and of course, that trick tilt-up keyboard, it’s not hard to see why. One thing that was missing, however, was the inclusion of HSUPA. We kind of expected the mother of all smartphones to get HSUPA high-speed upload speeds of 1.4Mbps to complement the HSDPA connectivity, but the launch details didn’t make any mention of such luck. However, it seems there might still be some HSUPA goodies in the cards. French carrier Orange has released an HSUPA upgrade roadmap for it’s handset lineup - and it seems to indicate that the HTC TyTn II Kaiser P4550 will support HSUPA data connections once Orange’s infrastructure is up to speed, as it were. How great would it be to get HSUPA upload-speeds with our AT&T Tilt? It’s nice to dream. • Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim Windows Mobile 6.0 phone gets spec'ed out

The Windows Mobile 6.0-powered Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim just recently passed through the FCC’s halls and is now stretching its legs on the spec-sheet. With the confidentiality period now expired, we can tell you that the Gigabyte O2 Denim will be rocking “capsense” (read: touch-sensitive) navigation keys underneath the slide-out keypad. But, it doesn’t end there. The Windows Mobile 6.0 OS will be running on a 520Mhz CPU and 256 MB ROM, 64MB RAM. The tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, with a single-band (2100Mhz) UMTS/HSDPA radio, will be supplemented with WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. • HTC Launches P3600i in Australia with Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional

Those lucky Aussies just got what no other European can hope for - an HTC P3600 Trinity packing the coveted Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS . HTC hasn’t blessed the P3600 with that long-awaited WM6 upgrade , but they’ve seen fit to release a juiced-up WinMo6.0 version for those living “down under” - the HTC P3600i (”i” stands for “improved?”). Apparently, the HTC P3600i won’t just be toting quad-band GSM radio (with UMTS/HSDPA) and Windows Mobile 6.0 in that yummy “Professional” flavor, it’ll be rocking a faster processor and double the ROM memory - 500 Mhz Samsung CPU and 256 MB ROM, to be exact. 3 Australia is offering this suped up HTC P3600 Trinity for 622 Euro ($839), free and clear of any contracts. We don’t know if HTC has any plans to bring this thing to the EU or US, we’ll just have to wait and see. We love waiting. • Verizon launches Motorola Q9m music smartphone online

Just as we expected , Big Red has just launched their Motorola Q9m music-oriented Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard smartphone. The Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard-powered smartphone will put that custom, media-UI in exchange for $349.99 - after $100 online discount and $50 rebate, it’ll cost you about $200. It’s not a bad deal, especially for a brand-spankin’ new WM6 smartphone. We love the red accents on the black Q9m, it’s classy and edgy at the same time.
