Here’s another bit of bad-news to put a damper on the holiday spirits of all Samsung SGH-i607 BlackJack owners out there. In addition to still not having an official Windows Mobile 6.0 ROM upgrade, it seems that AT&T and Samsung is quietly recalling all BlackJacks manufactured between November 2006 and February 2007. Word comes from AT&T’s official support forums and points toward faulty antenna hardware. The antenna apparently works itself loose over time and causes wishy-washy signal strength and dropped calls.
Warranty centers have been advised of the recall, so if you’ve been noticing more than the usual amount of dropped calls and crap-for-reliability signal strength, hit up AT&T and see what you can get in the way of a replacement. But, don’t hold your breath for a new BlackJack with that WinMo6 ROM.
