Thanks to the good ol’ FCC, we’ve spotted a new CDMA-based HTC smartphone - Iris. As you can see from the image on the left, the device in question looks kinda familiar. Yeah, I’m talking about the phone used for demoing the Android platform. All the buttons are there and also is the screen size.
Apparently, the Iris will come with the EV-DO support, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2 MP camera, microSD memory slot and a very large battery. And even though we hope we’ll see the first device running Google’s mobile OS sooner rather than later, the Iris will most probably run Windows Mobile 6. Still we can hope…
NOTE: We’ve already seen HTC S640 (Iris) passing the FCC hurdle, but that one had a different keypad layout.
