  • Apple gets hit with another lawsuit - these class-action battery lawsuits are getting tired

Seriously, there’s another class-action lawsuit on file in an Oakland, CA. federal court. This one was actually filed by the same lawyer that filed on behalf of Sydney Leung a couple weeks ago - he’s obviously trying to cover all his bases in the hopes that one of his cases will net him some cash (there should be a law against this sort of thing.). This time the complaints come from Zoltan Stiener and Ynez Stiener, and claim that Apple and AT&T failed to inform consumers that the batter will require a $100 replacement (including the loaner iPhone fee) during its lifetime. We’ll see if this case actually goes anywhere. Ambrosia Software released iToner 1.0 today, a simple utility that lets you add MP3 or AAC audio files to an iPhone for use as custom ringtones. • Pantech c810 dual-sliding Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone to hit AT&T

If you’re a fan of the Helio Ocean’s two-way sliding, keypad/QWERTY keyboard configuration, you’ll love this. Boy Genius reports that the Pantech (the same company that makes the Helio Ocean, by the way) is bringing their Pantech c810 to AT&T in Q4 of this year. The dual-sliding smartphone looks and works much like the Helio Ocean, but will be rocking a Windows Mobile 6.0 OS, 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and 3G(!). That means all you WinMo fans out there can get your dual-sliding fix on a wireless-broadband handset. We’re excited for this dual-slider to hit AT&T. The Helio Ocean is a fantastic concept, only held back by it’s lack of power - the WM6 packin’, 3G-enabled Pantech c810 is just the ticket! Look for this thing to drop in Q4 at an estimated price point of $249.99 with 2-year contract. • Apple set to launch custom ringtone maker for iPhone music ringtones

It looks like Apple if starting to finally come through on their promise of expanding the iPhone’s feature set through updates. Those last two updates via iTunes have been somewhat of a disappointment - they offered nothing in the way of new features. But, as Apple Insider reports, the New York Post got wind of Apple’s plans to launch their customized iPhone ringtone service. • iToner makes adding iPhone ringtones ridiculously easy

Filed under: Software , Apple Want to add iPhone ringtones? iToner's your solution, it's the easiest (and most graphically purdy) method we've seen yet, and it works without even jailbreaking your iPhone. The down side (yeah, there's always a downside) is this simple utility could teach a course in Nagware 101, bugging you incessantly and imposing increasingly longer delays before carrying out its function until you buy the thing. Still, it's worth it if you've been waiting for an excuse not to use marimba anymore. We'd just suggest waiting until next Wednesday before making the buy, we hear Apple might just do this thing themselves . More shots after the break.
